AFTER hosting their 6th successful junior tournament of the year, Pro Tennis Academy geared up for their second annual Wilson Fun Day that took place with lots of activities.

The event was held at SKW Tennis Club and the main feature of the day was for all tennis players, juniors, seniors and veterans of all levels to come and enjoy a fun-filled tennis day, while having the opportunity to try out all the latest Wilson tennis equipment such as the rackets used by the world’s best players such as Roger Federer, Jo-Wilfried Tsonga, etc.

Other than the equipment exhibition, lots of prizes were waiting to be won on the day where different fun activities were lined up, said Pro Tennis Academy coach Freeman Nyamunokora. It is encouraging to see the level of junior tennis growing during the past PTA tournament, sponsored by Wimpy.

The Namibian junior team together for double round robin for the Fun Day appear from left: Lere Nieuwoudt, Berney Olivier, Jonathan and Dawid Edmunds.
These Pro Tennis Academy tournaments have always worked as a performance measure for those who participate and as preparation for the national NTA tournament which follows after a Pro Tennis Academy tournament, said PTA coach, Freeman Nyamunokora.

A big acknowledgement and thank you to the sponsor Wimpy, who made the tournament a big success by their unwavering support in the last two tournaments. For more information on the Wilson Fun Day, contact Elizma Nortjé, head coach/director Pro Tennis Academy at 081 240 0560.
